Our experienced physiotherapists help people of all ages and abilities; from Olympic and Commonwealth athletes to 90 year old golfers to 'Weekend Warriors'. Whatever your sport, we can help you recover.

Sports Massage

Sports massage or soft-tissue therapy is the treatment of specific muscles, fascia, tendons or ligaments. Massage targets these structures to aid recovery and help in the prevention of injuries.

It was originally developed to help athletes perform at their optimal level, to recover from such exertion rapidly, and to minimise the risk of injury. This still remains the principle focus of Sports Massage, however its ability to release tight, sore muscles and promote relaxation means that a wide variety of people can gain these benefits also.

Sports massage works deep into the muscles, loosening off areas of tension and tight muscles, helping break down scar tissue and increasing circulation. It reduces our cortisol levels and increases our feel good endorphins serotonin and dopamine. A therapy that can benefit a wide range of people, including athletes, desk bound workers, postural complaints, chronic, acute pain and neurological conditions etc.

Sports massage can be used both as a go to therapy as and when required or as a maintenance therapy to help prevent injury and improve overall muscle health. Massage can alleviate sore tight muscles and fascia.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the application of needles to stimulate or de-sensitise your nervous system. This has the effect of activating your bodies natural pain killing chemicals and increases the natural healing ability of the body and can reduce your pain.

We offer acupuncture in the forms of dry needling, Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture and the Western Approach.

Pilates

1:1 Pilates is great for those recovering from injury or prefer more input and direction. It’s also useful for those who would like to join a group class in the future and want to get class ready.

We run small friendly group Pilates classes in 6 week blocks and gradually progress the difficulty level of the exercises each week to suit your individual level. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking for more of a challenge we have classes adapted for all levels.

Barre

Barre is a form of exercise that focuses on building strength, flexibility and balance. It improves posture, builds core strength and isolates muscle groups to work on. It uses movements derived from ballet moves and is delivered at a faster pace than Pilates. Unlike many other forms of exercise, Barre exercises your feet and ankles, which is a great one for runners. Barre is another great exercise for a wide range of people and groups. It can help address common issues for people with pelvic instability, in need of strengthening their core and glutes and helps keep the knee’s and hip’s healthy by strengthening the quadriceps and calves.
